Jereme West '23, Douglas, Massachusetts
West is a U.S. Army veteran and member of the LGBTQ+ community who lives with PTSD. He tried 7 other schools before finding the support he needed at SNHU. West crossed the stage with his service dog in April 2023, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Now, he is using his education to help other service members transition to civilian life in his role at the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Michael Shimkus ’16, Bedford, Massachusetts
Shimkus briefly attended college after high school before life took him in a different direction. When he completed his military service in 2011, he was determined to finish his college education. As an adult student balancing work and school, he needed flexible classes to fit his busy life and advisors who understood military-affiliated students like him. In 2016, Shimkus crossed the finish line with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.

First, submit the application. At SNHU, it’s a free online form. Once accepted, decide how you’d like to pay for college. We can help with this.
Then, your admission counselor can help you register for courses, and your academic advisor will work with you to map out a degree plan!
There are 5 graduate terms and 6 undergraduate terms per year, so you never have to wait to get started.
And, if you already earned some college credit, SNHU will request transcripts to see what might transfer.
