Population health nursing is where nursing and public health come together. These nurses help connect everyday clinical care with key public health activities — like assessing community needs, creating health policies and making sure services are available to everyone equally.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) recently joined Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing — or Sigma, for short. With SNHU now an institutional member of the organization, nursing faculty and staff are eager to help students understand Sigma’s value.

Serving as Program Director for Public Health programs at SNHU, Dr. Ashley Love answered questions about her path to this role, her work through the years in public health and her passion for supporting military spouses.
