SNHU Spotlight: Andrew Reil, BS in Business Administration Grad

Andrew Reil, a 2024 bachelor's in business administration graduate from SNHU

Andrew Reil '24 was balancing the demands of a busy life and his full-time job when his then-girlfriend, and now-wife, suggested that he advance his education. When it came time to look at schools, he said, she offered to lend a hand. That's when she recommended he check out Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). Once he did, Riel applied to SNHU.

Fast-forward, Reil walked across the stage at SNHU's spring 2024 Commencement. He graduated with his bachelor's in business administration with a concentration in project management. He said he chose this degree because of his interest in project management and business dynamics.

The impact of his coursework did not stay within the classroom; it also resonated in his day-to-day life and in his work experience. "Whether it be past jobs or the current job that I’m at now, (I'm) definitely seeing some resemblance in situations and discussion posts," he said.

Beyond Reil's interest in business, he said he wanted to earn the degree to better himself and his career. He also dedicated his degree to his parents who supported him through his education.

Reil is a first-generation college graduate; meaning he's the first in his family to complete a college education.

"Being first-generation is a big deal for me. It's a big deal for my family," he said. "It gives you a sense of pride. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. It gives you a power within yourself knowing that you're capable of things you might not think you are."

At Commencement, Reil reflected on his experience overall. "The feeling is just incredible. Graduating, getting your diploma, getting your degree, and bettering yourself and your education is always one of the best things in life," he said. "No one can ever take that away from you."
