SNHU Partners with Manchester Marathon Association as New Title Sponsor

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is proud to announce its three-year partnership with the Manchester Marathon Association (MMA), as Title Sponsor. Together, SNHU and the MMA will host the Queen City's annual marathon, half-marathon, relay and 5K, now titled Manchester City Marathon, Powered by SNHU. As the MMA's exclusive higher education sponsor, SNHU will assist in supporting, organizing and administering the race.

"SNHU is thrilled to partner with the Manchester Marathon Association as its Title Sponsor for the next three years," said Gregg Mazzola, SNHU Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing. "The races are about bringing together the City of Manchester and its surrounding communities, and also serving as a host to those participants new to this area. New Hampshire, and Manchester in particular, have a committed racing community and we're excited to be part of its rich history."

Included in the partnership, MMA will provide experiential learning opportunities to SNHU students through internships. The internship opportunities will allow hospitality, sports management, marketing and graphic design students to apply their knowledge and skills outside of the traditional classroom setting and gain firsthand professional experiences. In addition, a number of SNHU staff and faculty will receive complimentary entries to participate in the race.

"On behalf of the Manchester Marathon Association, we are excited about our new partnership with Southern New Hampshire University," said Larry Gagnon, MCM board president. "We are confident that SNHU will help the marathon reach new heights by bringing the community together to benefit local charities, runners, spectators, sponsors and area businesses."

Investing in the Manchester community, SNHU's home since 1932, remains a top priority for the University. SNHU now leases approximately 250,000 square feet of office space in two downtown locations and has added more than 2,000 new jobs to the local economy, a boon to downtown merchants. The partnership with MMA will allow SNHU to connect with the community, provide experiential learning opportunities to students and highlight the importance of education and healthy communities.

The 10th annual Manchester City Marathon, Powered by SNHU is scheduled for November 6, 2016.
