Meet Some Fellow SNHU Arizona Residents
Robert Heckinger '23 traveled to SNHU's Commencement ceremony from his home in Arizona to receive his BA in General Studies. He said he learned from more than just the materials covered in his courses.
"I learned a lot from the students in the classroom," he said. "You're meeting people who have different goals, different expertise. It's amazing."
Partners Samiyah Muhammed '23 and Diana Sanda '23G faced a lot of obstacles but persisted and walked across the Commencement stage together.
"We are here walking the stage together after many, many long years of hard work and dedication and perseverance," Muhammed said.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you get a degree online in Arizona?
Yes, you can. You can get an online degree anywhere in the country where you have internet access. SNHU's classes are online and asynchronous, which means there are no set class times. You'll have weekly deadlines, but when you do your coursework is up to you and what works for your life.
Is SNHU accredited in Arizona?
Southern New Hampshire University is accredited by the regional accreditor the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), which is one of the regional accrediting bodies recognized within the United States by the U.S. Department of Education. This means, as an SNHU student — no matter what state you live in — you’ll be earning a degree from a respected university that is recognized nationwide for meeting accreditation standards.
It’s important to note that institutions are not accredited by state. However, regional accreditation, from accreditors such as NECHE, is widely recognized across the United States.
SNHU also carries specialized accreditations for particular programs.
Can you do 100% online college?
At SNHU you can. We have more than 200 programs that are fully online. We offered our first online programs in 1995 and have spent the 25+ years since then building the best programs we can tailored to work for busy adults juggling work, family and more.
Is online college taken seriously?
Not only are online degrees taken seriously, employers across the country have partnered with us to give their employees pathways to earn their degrees online. They recognize the value of their employees studying at a regionally accredited institution that offers flexible, affordable programs.
Is online college cheaper?
Your overall cost for a degree depends on a lot of factors, from the school you attend to how much and what type of financial aid you qualify for. Another factor you may not have thought of is transfer credits. If you're one of the millions of Americans who have earned college credits but not a degree, you may be able to transfer those credits toward a degree and lessen the time and money it takes to finish.
SNHU accepts up to 90 credits toward a bachelor's degree and 45 credits toward an associate degree. We also have experts who can complete a free transcript evaluation to determine which of your credits you can transfer toward a degree.
We have a lot of resources to help you determine what your degree will cost, including a Net Price Calculator, info about how to pay for college, and a financial literacy team that can help walk you through the process.
