Frequently Asked Questions
Can you get a degree online in Missouri?
Yes, you can. When you enroll in an online degree program, you can access coursework wherever you have an internet connection, including Missouri.
At SNHU, for example, there are more than 4,500 current students and graduates from Missouri. We have more than 200 degrees available online so you can find the right program to help you reach your goals and get the career you want.
Is SNHU accredited in Missouri?
Southern New Hampshire University is accredited by the regional accreditor the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), which is one of the regional accrediting bodies recognized within the United States by the U.S. Department of Education. This means, as an SNHU student — no matter what state you live in — you’ll be earning a degree from a respected university that is recognized nationwide for meeting accreditation standards.
It’s important to note that institutions are not accredited by state. However, regional accreditation, from accreditors such as NECHE, is widely recognized across the United States.
SNHU also carries specialized accreditations for particular programs.
Can you do 100% online college?
Yes, you can. At SNHU, there are more than 200 online degree programs available to students in Missouri and around the country. With no set class times, online discussion boards and 24/7 access to your course materials, you can earn a degree on your schedule – without ever stepping foot into a physical classroom.
Most SNHU programs can be completed 100% online, but there are some exceptions. For example, our online nursing programs may require both online classes and in-person clinical experiences.
To learn more about a specific degree and whether it can be completed fully online, look at the individual program details or contact us.
What is the fastest degree to get online?
The fastest online degree program depends on your previous educational experience and the type of credential you want.
SNHU’s online associate degree programs and online master’s degree programs, for example, can be completed in as few as 2 years. Bachelor's degree programs can typically be completed in about 4 years. Our accelerated bachelor's-to-master's online programs allow you to earn 2 degrees in less time and for less money.
There are also ways to earn any degree faster. For example, SNHU offers six 8-week terms throughout the year for undergraduate programs. Because you can take 1 or 2 classes each term, you can move through your degree requirements faster.
If you have transfer credits from past college courses, you may be able to apply those courses toward your degree and save time. Your past professional experience, industry certifications and other learning experiences may also help you earn college credit.
Speak with an admission counselor at SNHU to find out how quickly you can earn a degree.
Do employers take online degrees seriously?
We can't speak for all employers, but if you've earned it from an accredited institution, your degree should most certainly be taken seriously.
Not only is SNHU accredited – we also work with industry partners to ensure our courses are aligned with workforce standards. This means you can graduate with the in-demand skills employers want.
