Your Service Deserves Our Support
We know Oregon has a long and honored military community, and we’ve been a proud military supporter since World War II. In addition to low online tuition, no set class times and some of the best support in higher education, active-duty U.S. service members and their spouses can qualify for tuition discounts of up to 30%. We also accept military tuition assistance, Veteran Affairs (VA) education benefits and Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) scholarships for spouses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you get a degree online in Oregon?
You can get a degree online in Oregon – or anywhere else you have internet access. More than 2,400 residents of Oregon are already doing it or have already completed their online degree at SNHU.
We've offered online degrees since 1995. A lot has changed since then. But what hasn't changed is online degree programs that are affordable and flexible enough for you to earn your degree while working, taking care of your family and more.
Is SNHU accredited in Oregon?
Southern New Hampshire University is accredited by the regional accreditor the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), which is one of the regional accrediting bodies recognized within the United States by the U.S. Department of Education. This means, as an SNHU student — no matter what state you live in — you’ll be earning a degree from a respected university that is recognized nationwide for meeting accreditation standards.
It’s important to note that institutions are not accredited by state. However, regional accreditation, from accreditors such as NECHE, is widely recognized across the United States.
SNHU also carries specialized accreditations for particular programs.
Can you do 100% online college?
We'd love for you to visit our campus in Manchester, New Hampshire (especially if it's to walk across the stage at Commencement), but you don't have to. You can choose from more than 200 online degrees at SNHU.
But even online, you can still connect with and learn from your classmates and instructors via weekly discussion board posts as well as your assignments. Some online students also take advantage of experiential-learning opportunities available in some programs and connect directly with companies to solve real-world problems.

What is the fastest degree to get online?
You can earn some degrees faster than others. An associate degree usually takes two years and a bachelor's four years, for example. But there are plenty of factors that you have to take into account. For instance, a full-time course load – 2 courses per 8-week undergraduate term – would earn credits twice as fast as attending part time.
But there are also lots of ways to shorten the time it takes to get your degree, not to mention how much it costs.
First and foremost, if you're one of the millions of Americans who have some college credit but no degree, you might be able to transfer credits to SNHU and shorten your timeline. SNHU will accept up to 90 transfer credits toward a bachelor's degree, leaving you with just 30 credits left to earn. We also accept up to 45 credits toward an associate degree and up to 12 toward a master's.
On top of that, we'll complete a free transcript evaluation to determine exactly how many of your earned credits qualify for transfer.
SNHU also accepts some military credits as well as credits earned through exams like the College-Level Examination Preparation (CLEP), which can often be taken for less than $100.
Is online college harder than regular college?
It can be, but many people also find it easier to go online because it better matches their learning and lifestyle. It does require dedication, self-motivation – and good time-management skills – but you're also not doing it alone. You'll have a dedicated academic advisor who can help you, plus our courses are specifically designed to be accessible and simple to navigate.
Is online college taken seriously?
We take online education very seriously. We've worked for decades to design rigorous educational programs that can help prepare you with the skills and knowledge you'll need in the workplace. We've partnered with hundreds of employers, many of whom offer their employees tuition discounts to SNHU, to ensure we're on top of what skills are in demand in the job market.
