There are lots of advantages to taking a single course. Whether you want to grow in your current career, prepare yourself for a new one or get one step closer to a college degree, an individual course is a great way to get started.
Not only is a single course low-commitment, but it’s a fast way to gain skills and college credits and explore what it’s like to take courses at SNHU.
SNHU courses focus on real-world, career-focused skills that you can use immediately in the workplace or to help prepare you to advance in the field.
Course credits may be transferred to a degree program at SNHU or another university, depending on your university’s transfer policy.
Southern New Hampshire University's MAT-135 - The Heart of Mathematics course can help you get a jumpstart on your Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mathematics or upskill for your career. It's a discussion-based, collaborative course that explores the beauty of mathematics through topics like fractals, chaos theory and topology instead of focusing solely on formal equations.
The course is included in our bachelor's in mathematics program. So while it can be taken as a standalone course, its credits can also be applied toward the full degree if you choose to continue.
MAT-135 - The Heart of Mathematics is an 8-week course broken into distinct modules that cover topics like logic puzzles, chaos theory and more. You'll learn how to communicate and problem-solve without the constraints of formal mathematical notation. You'll also build knowledge in fundamental areas of higher mathematics, including number theory, infinity, geometry, topology, fractals and more.
