Jacob Powers, associate dean for SNHU’s Creative Writing programs, answered questions about his professional background, his passion for creative writing and his work helping students build confidence in their craft.

Valerie Craig ’25 wasn’t planning to go to her commencement ceremony. She was already focused on her next goals. But her family encouraged her to make the trek from New York to New Hampshire, so they could celebrate her associate degree with the rest of SNHU's Class of 2025.

An English literature degree fosters critical thinking, research skills and effective communication, equipping you with the skills for diverse career options. Besides traditional paths like teaching and publishing, you could explore roles in public relations, law, politics and research.

Jessica L. Cozzi '22G earned her MFA from Southern New Hampshire University. She lives in New York and works as a publicist at HarperCollins. She recently published her debut novel, "We’ve Hit Turbulence," with Delacorte Romance, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
